The farm used to be a cow farm, but since the 1970s it has become a coffee finca. Rodolfo has fully owned this farm since 2019 and since then he has also started agroforestry. This means that he tries to create a polyculture on this farm so that the soil becomes more richly saturated, loses less water and nutrients and does not deplete the soil. He does this through many different trees such as Guanecaste, Cocobolo or Cycad trees. He also plants cocoa and hibiscus on his farm. Those are not only for the soil but are also an economic choice. He spreads the farm's income over different harvest seasons. In a dry year with less coffee, for example, you can still generate an income via cocoa. This farm is a try-out farm for Rudolfo where he can try a lot and different varieties and different methods to make high quality and different flavors.
Last year we did a tryout with different processing methods, but this year we keep it classic on only natural processing. This makes the coffee full of notes of dark chocolate and an aftertaste of dried plum. Very cool for your Espresso and also good for your cappuccino. In our filter roast you get a very full mouthfeel with a natural vibe in the background.
