We haven't had Brazil in our range for a while. Although Brazils often have a conventional taste of chocolate and nutty notes, we think they also fit within our range. Because in addition to tropical fruit, berry and strawberry flavors, these flavors can also be celebrated in specialty coffee. This Brazil is delicious as a thick espresso, strong in your cappuccino, and sweet in your filter coffee.
The coffee comes from Fazenda Maria Celeste. The Maria Celeste was a Spanish ship named after the daughter of Galileo Galilei. The ship was found at the end of the 19th century a few weeks after it set sail without the crew on board. What exactly happened has never been resolved, but it is a kind of Spanish version of the Flying Dutchman.
Maria Carvalho has been running the farm since 1993. The farm consists of 180 Ha of land, which is far above the average but certainly not one of the largest farms in Brazil. Since Brazil has such a flat ground, but still at a good height above sea level, coffee can grow well but can also be harvested with machines.
